Delete your account

The fastest and most secure deletion path is inside Vignetra. A verified email route is available if you no longer have access to the app.

Applies to Apple, Google, and email/password accounts
Original photos and videos are not deleted. They remain in your device photo library. Account deletion also cannot erase a copy a recipient already saved outside Vignetra.

Delete in the app

  1. Open Vignetra.
  2. Tap your picture at the top right of Today or Map, then tap Settings (the gear).
  3. Scroll to the end and tap Delete account.
  4. Review the message and tap Delete permanently.

Every authenticated person can start this process at any time, including while an account restriction or closure is active. Vignetra clears the signed-in account’s cloud metadata, owned encrypted shares, relationships, share access, and the app’s local indexes on that device. You may need to reauthenticate for security; an email/password account must provide its current password in the app.

Request deletion without the app

Email privacy@vignetra.com with the subject “Vignetra account deletion request.” Include the username and email or private relay address associated with the account. Do not send a password, provider authentication code, face image, or photo-library content.

We will ask for enough information to verify that you control the account. Verification protects users against malicious deletion requests. Once verified, we will process the request within the time required by applicable law and confirm completion by email.

What the request removes

  • the Vignetra Firebase authentication account;
  • profile information and unique username association;
  • synced moment captions, location corrections, hidden or viewed state, and preferences;
  • friend requests, friendships, blocks, notifications, device push tokens, encryption recovery bundle, and owned hearts or comments;
  • encrypted shares owned by the account and the account’s access to shares owned by others;
  • associated Vignetra entitlement, allowance, and account-integrity records where deletion is not legally restricted;
  • locally stored sharing keys, friends’ shared moments and the faces read from them, push tokens, and profile caches on a device when deletion is completed through that device.

Face groups, face feature data, person names, visual embeddings, and thumbnails are local rather than account-synced. In-app deletion keeps what Vignetra learned from your own library on that device, so Today, search, and the On This Day widget keep working without an account; turn on “Also erase what Vignetra learned on this iPhone” (or “this iPad” or “this device”) in the confirmation to clear them as well. If you request deletion only by email, uninstall Vignetra or clear its app data on each device you control to remove local copies. Vignetra cannot delete copies another person already saved, exported, photographed, or recorded.

Limited retention

Vignetra may retain narrowly limited security, fraud-prevention, transaction, legal, or backup records for the period required by law or reasonably needed to establish, exercise, or defend legal claims. Those records are isolated from normal product use where feasible. If an active safety restriction or closure exists, Vignetra may retain one-way Apple or Google provider-identity fingerprints, a separately keyed one-way verified-email fingerprint, and the minimal action state so deleting and recreating an account cannot bypass that action. This record does not retain the provider subject, deleted Vignetra UID, raw email, name, photos, or ordinary profile content. A temporary-action fingerprint is deleted when the action expires; a closure record remains only as long as reasonably necessary and legally permitted to enforce the closure. Deleting a Vignetra account does not cancel a subscription managed by Apple or Google; cancel it separately in your app-store subscription settings.
